Is ‘Reign’ Being Cancelled?

Reign spoilers, Reign return, Reign schedule

The rumors have been circulating for weeks, but is Reign really being cancelled?(Facebook)

It’s a question we’ve been asking ourselves all season. Is Reign being cancelled?

The CW historical drama, currently airing its third season, has seen its viewership steadily decline this fall and rumors have been swirling for weeks that Reign‘s reign may actually be coming to an end. Soon.

As of right now, the CW is apparently on the fence about the of the show with chances of renewal currently standing at 50/50 with a 0.3 rating in the crucial 18-49 demo. Torronce Coombs, who plays Bash on the show, seemed to offer a bit of clarity a few weeks ago, although the network hasn’t confirmed (or denied) his Tweet:

The ninth episode of Reign‘s current season is slated to air on Friday night with one more episode earning an actual air date. After that? There’s a bit of silence from everyone involved as, it seems, no one is entirely certain of the show’s future.

Of course, this season has been a whirlwind for fans. The show moved to Friday nights, Queen Elizabeth was introduced and, most heartbreaking, King Francis died. Still, Adelaide Kane, who plays Mary, told The Reel Spin she’s hopeful about the future and the scope the show is taking:

It’s going to be a whole new world, it’s gonna be new people and cast. We’re going to keep the court in England, and we’re going to keep the court in France as well. It’s going to end up being a three pronged show…bigger and badder than ever.

The next two episodes of Reign will air at 8 p.m. ET Fridays on the CW.
