Marvel and DC showcased their newest big screen comic book epics, spies and UFO’s took center stage once again and long dormant franchises were revived for a new generation.

Grab some popcorn and chill out with us as we count down the best movie trailers of 2015!

10. Independence Day: Resurgence Official Trailer #1

There were rumblings within the movie industry about a sequel to one of the 90’s most iconic action films. Out of nowhere came this trailer that got us and a lot of other folks enthusiastic for Independence Day: Resurgence. So it turns out we kicked those aliens’ asses and used their technology to further our military weaponry. The aliens have come back for round 2…and they brought bigger UFO’s. The scenes showing off these new massive airships had us in awe, plus we knew this film would be the perfect candidate for IMAX after seeing those astronauts haul ass on the moon. We’re sad that Will Smith won’t be reprising his role, but this trailer gave us hope that this movie’s gonna be great even without him.

9. Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation Trailer #1

The latest Mission Impossible films have been awesome but criminally underrated spy adventures. Rogue Nation once again proved just how quality its series has been and why it needs more attention. Tom Cruise once again reminded us how insane he is after we saw him hold on for dear life while a cargo plane ascended with him on it. After spotting that closing scene, we knew Rouge Nation would be a good time. Before that scene shocked us, we were on the edge of our seat after watching that motorcycle chase sequence and the most dangerous car reverse incident we’ve ever seen. This trailer featured all the elements that all good spy movies are known for.

8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of The Shadows – Trailer #1

The 1st TMNT reboot film was…passable. So no one should be surprised that a lot of retro fans of the Turtles aren’t too excited about the sequel. But after witnessing the very 1st trailer for part two, one word came to mind – “Hope.” As in, there’s hope for TMNT 2 actually being 10x better than its predecessor. The turtles’ color sheen looks a little bit brighter, the Turtle Van looks incredible, Casey Jones is back and Bebop & Rocksteady actually look like their cartoon counterparts. This trailer was full of fun moments that stood out and reminded us of the good ol’ days of the TMNT reign. This trailer has convinced us that there might be a good movie here. Key word – “Might.”

7. Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron – Trailer #3

Marvel threw us all one last peek into the big screen battle between The Avengers and the all-mighty evil robot, Ultron. The 3rd trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stood out to us as the greatest one. Several quick shots were shown of Marvel’s greatest heroes, who gave us the impression that they’d be dealing with a threat unlike anything else. This trailer didn’t give away too much, but it gave us just enough. The Hulkbuster Iron Man armor vs. Hulk clash and the team’s crusade against several raging robots previews provided just the right amount of final hype needed to get us ready for Age of Ultron.

6. Deadpool – Red Band Trailer #2

Wow! Deadpool may actually be even funnier than we previously imagined. This trailer was a pleasant Christmas 2015 gift for fans who cried out for that R-rating. Everything about this trailer meshed up perfectly – the two outlandish background music selections sounded perfect as it backed up Deadpool’s hilarious quips and ass kicking. The jokes came a mile a minute (“I don’t have time for your X-Men bullshit, Colossus!”) and Deadpool’s sword/gun wielding skills looked amazing in action. The final shot of Deadpool spouting off this one-liner capped off a riotous trailer – “Oh, I so pity the dude who pressures her into prom sex…”
