On tonight’s episode of The Bachelor, Ben Higgins takes the remaining contestants to his hometown of Warsaw, Indiana. He visits his old high school, his parents and other memorable areas. So, let’s get some details on where Higgins is from …
Warsaw is in Kosciusko County and it’s surrounded by Winona Lake, Pike Lake, Hidden Lake, and Center Lake. As of 2010, the town had a population of 13,559, according to the U.S. Census. The town was named after the capital of Poland in tribute to Tadeusz Kościuszko in 1836 and it’s known as the “Orthopedic Capital of the World”. This is because it is the home of the first orthopedic device manufacturer, the DePuy Manufacturing Company. Click here for the official Warsaw website.
Growing up in Warsaw, Higgins was the high school quarterback and was also a Sunday school teacher at Warsaw Community Church. Higgins also spent time with the Baker Youth Club. He went on to attend Indiana University and do charity work as a missionary.
So, what is there to do in Warsaw if you’re visiting? There are several museums and farms in the area during the day and some bars to hit up at night. It’s basically your average town.
Higgins currently lives in Colorado.
