An initial report by OK! Magazine stated that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were calling it quits after Shelton’s ex, Miranda Lambert, 32, sent “a series of mean texts” to Stefani. Lambert’s messages allegedly came after she was informed by some music business friends about some unkind things Stefani said about her. Shelton and Stefani began dating just a few months after divorcing Lambert.
UPDATE: Hollywood Life reported that a Blake Shelton representative stated that the story is untrue.
Here’s what you need to know about the rumors:
1. Lambert Allegedly Sent Several Shocking Texts

OK! Magazine reported that Lambert “allegedly sent Gwen a series of mean texts, and Blake’s response to the incident was shocking.”
Lambert reportedly “began texting Gwen incessantly with some harsh threats from an unknown!”
She then allegedly threatened physical harm on Stefani — whom she called a “home wrecker” and stated that her career was “over”:
“Lucky I don’t find you and kick your ass”
Meanwhile, a Lambert source told InTouch magazine that Lambert has a difficult time resisting the urge to express how she feels about Stefani.
“Sometimes she can’t control herself. If Gwen were to set her off somehow, then the gloves would definitely come off.”
2. Stefani Reportedly Didn’t Like That Shelton Didn’t Stand Up for Her

When the messages came through to Stefani, Shelton apparently wanted Stefani to “calm down.” Shelton’s response wasn’t something that Stefani — pictured above styling on her Twitter page — was a fan of.
A source of The Voice couple told Hollywood Life the following:
“[Blake] told Gwen to calm down and tried to brush off the situation, explaining that it was just Miranda’s tough ‘country gal’ personality coming through, and that Gwen shouldn’t get too worked up about it. She’s very sensitive about what she sees as a lack of loyalty because of things that happened in her marriage. Gwen decided that if Blake wouldn’t stand up for her and tell Miranda off, she didn’t want to be with him.”
Shelton allegedly felt that Stefani was blowing the supposed situation out of proportion, causing him to witness a side of her that he hasn’t seen.
“[Blake] thinks Gwen made a mountain out of a molehill, and the whole situation made him see another side of her he didn’t know was there. It’s sad, but maybe they just took on too much, too soon.”
3. Lambert Was Reportedly Determined to Beat Stefani to the Altar

On February 17, Life & Style reported that Lambert and her musician boyfriend Anderson East — after two months of dating — are looking to get married.
East told CMT affiliate 92.3 WCOL that he met Lambert when she ended up at one of his concerts and a friend of his introduced them. He also told the radio station that music is definitely “a shared love” in their relationship.
A Life&Style source stated the following about Lambert’s relationship:
“They’ve discussed taking their relationship to the next level and for both of them, that means one thing: marriage. Miranda is determined to beat Gwen to the altar. Miranda will never forgive Gwen for having such a public romance with Blake so soon after their divorce. Beating Gwen to the altar is a way for her to have the last laugh.”
4. Lambert’s Anger Was Allegedly Fueled When Gwen Called Her a ‘Redneck Harlot’
Lambert’s anger was reportedly sparked when Stefani referred to her as a “redneck harlot.
An InTouch insider explained the friction that’s continually developed between Lambert and Stefani.
“Gwen paraded her romance with Blake like it ws some big prize she won at the county fair, to make her feel better about the end of her marriage to Gavin Rossdale. It wasn’t fair and it wasn’t nice. Gwen broke all girl codes in the book. And, at the same time, Miranda doesn’t hold back when she communicates with Blake, whether it’s through texts that she knows Gavin will see, phone calls or through mutual friends. Gwen feels Miranda is hurt and acting out when she does it. But even she knows that, it doesn’t sting any less.”
5. Stefani & Shelton Started Dating Just a Few Months After His Divorce
Shelton and Lambert divorced on July 20, 2015 and he began dating Stefani just months later. Reps for the former couple put out the following statement to the Associated Press.
“This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
After 13 years of marriage, Stefani split from hubby Gavin Rossdale on August 3, 2015. The two put out a joint statement. She told Daily Mail that while her life was “so extreme,” she was inspired to be “in a new place,” which involved being back on The Voice and moving past her divorce.
