A new season of I Am Cait, starring Caitlyn Jenner premieres tonight and Jenner talks about her future in dating. Last season on the show, there were rumors that Jenner was dating her friend Candis Cayne. On the other hand, Jenner said that she can “appreciate” the male form. This led viewers to wonder if Jenner was gay, straight or undecided. The only person who knows Caitlyn Jenner’s preference right now is Caitlyn Jenner.
In the past, Jenner has had conservative views when it has come to gay rights, specifically gay marriage. On Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, Jenner said that he used to oppose equal marriage. After becoming trans, Jenner said that, “If the word ‘marriage’ is really, really that important to you, I can go with it.” DeGeneres seemed a bit surprised by Jenner’s response.
Words like these get Jenner in trouble with some of her new trans friends and we see that play out this season on I Am Cait.
Most recently, Jenner has been in the news for endorsing presidential candidate Ted Cruz. In an interview with Advocate, Jenner stated:
I like Ted Cruz. I think he’s very conservative and a great constitutionalist and a very articulate man. I haven’t endorsed him or anything like that. But I also think, he’s an evangelical Christian, and probably one of the worst ones when it comes to trans issues.
Continuing to talk about Cruz possibly being in office, Jenner said that it would be great to have “her girls” advise Cruz on trans issues in office. But, what really caused an uproar on social media was when Jenner talked about her becoming Cruz’s “trans ambassador,” explaining:
Yes, trans ambassador to the president of the United States, so we can say, ‘Ted, love what you’re doing but here’s what’s going on.’
