We haven’t been hearing much about Hollywood’s troubled one recently, and that’s because she’s off the grid. Sort of.
Lindsay Lohan left LA for London in 2015 and has settled in quite nicely. She’s even found herself a prince. No, she’s not dating Harry, though the two gingers would look good together.
Her “prince,” so to speak, is a Russian heir named Egor Tarabasov. LiLo confirmed the relationship to The Sun March 9, shortly after rumors sparked thanks to a few revealing Instagram posts of Lindsay’s.
Here’s what you need to know about LiLo’s new beau:
1. They’ve Been Dating for 7 Months
Lohan and Tarabasov were set up by a friend, according to Vanity Fair.
“I haven’t known Egor for that long. We’ve been together for about seven months,” Lohan told The Sun. “He is a great guy. I met him in the summer. I’m really happy.”
They met in London, where he is also living and working.
2. Tarabasov Is the Son of a Russian Millionaire & Owns His Own London Real Estate Business
Tarabasov is heir to a fortune. His father is 50-year-old Russian millionaire Dmitry Tarabasov, who lives in Moscow and owns several companies, including rail freight and building materials stores, according to a Russian news site.
Egor Tarabasov also founded his own business. His London real estate agency Home House Estates is a group of “estate agents and chartered surveyors specialising in residential property for sales, lettings and investment in the capital’s best addresses and postcodes,” according the company’s LinkedIn page. So, it’s pretty evident that he’s got more cash than Lohan, but that’s not saying much.
In 2014, Lohan could barely afford her own apartment, according to Jezebel, and her Lindsay production company had to help her out. In 2009, 2010 and 2011, the IRS hunted the actress down for skipping out on taxes, claiming she owed tens of thousands — if not hundreds — of dollars each year. One year, Charlie Sheen came to her rescue and wrote the IRS a check on her behalf. You know you’ve hit rock bottom when Charlie Sheen is your knight in shining armor.
You’d think after doing the OWN show and some theatre (she made her West End debut in 2014), she wouldn’t be strapped for cash. But apparently, LiLo blew through her OWN salary pretty quickly.
Lohan doesn’t really have an income at the moment (except for residuals); she hasn’t done more than a cameo since The Canyons in 2013. But things are looking up. She’s working on a film right now called The Shadow Within, which stars a bunch of people we’ve never heard of.
Until that check clears, she’s relying on her boyfriend to pay for fancy dinners and trips, an insider told PerezHilton.
3. Tarbasov Is 7 Years Younger Than Lohan
Tarabasov is 22 and Lohan’s about to turn 30. Despite his age, he already owns his own business and is one of the shareholders of Moscow’s Ivy Bank. While that’s impressive, young ambition is something they have in common; by 22 LiLo already had dozens of starring roles on her resume.
Tarabasov’s LinkedIn profile notes that he went to the Anglo-American School of Moscow until college. He then went on to get his degree from London’s Cass Business School.
4. It’s Getting Serious
Sources told TMZ that Tarabasov proposed to Lohan over the weekend, however Lohan’s rep told People Magazine that the rumors are false; although their relationship is very serious, they are not engaged…yet.
While some couples haven’t met each others’ families at the seven-month mark, these two aren’t wasting any time. In fact, according to People Magazine, she moved in with her new beau after only seven months.
TMZ reported that Tarabasov visited New York with Lohan over Christmas to meet her family, and the site reports that “has the Lohan family stamp of approval.”
Lohan has also made her love for Tarabasov public via an Instagram shot of him bare-chested along with the caption, “I love him.”
They’ve also traveled the world together, including their romantic New Year’s getaway to Costa Rica and a recent trip to Gstaad.
5. Tarabasov’s Not Responsible for Lohan’s Career Revival … If There is One
While her family likes the estate agent because “he keeps her out of trouble,” the redhead won’t credit him with her comeback (assuming she is coming back).
She told The Sun:
That’s the one thing in America they always have done with me. If I have ever been linked to someone, they always say, “This guy is so good for Lindsay, look at how he has changed her.” I am just like, “F*** you,” because I have done this for me. I take care of myself and then they just set it up to fail.”
