Game of Thrones season 6 premieres tonight, but how many more episodes will there be? What is the show’s schedule for this season? Fans are often surprised when each season ends, because it just never seems to last long enough and it always seems to be over far too soon. That’s because Game of Thrones doesn’t last as long each season as shows on major cable networks like ABC or CBS.

This season, Game of Thrones is scheduled to have ten episodes, like it does every season. The schedule for season 6 is:

  • Episode 1 – “The Red Woman” – April 24, 2016
  • Episode 2 – “Home” – May 1
  • Episode 3 – “Oathbreaker” – May 8
  • Episode 4 – May 15
  • Episode 5 – May 22
  • Episode 6 – May 29
  • Episode 7 – June 5
  • Episode 8 – June 12
  • Episode 9 – June 19
  • Episode 20 – June 26

But don’t count on 10 episodes for the next two seasons after this one. The last two seasons of Game of Thrones — seasons 7 and 8 — may be shorter, with only seven episodes in season 7 and six for season 8. Season 8 may also be the final season. These are just estimates at this time and not concrete decisions.
