Kelly Ripa is working another short week at Live with Kelly heading into Independence Day weekend. D.L. Hughley and Anderson Cooper will serve as her guest co-hosts for Monday and Tuesday shows.
Live has not come any closer to announcing a full-time replacement for Michael Strahan, who left the show in May after four years as Ripa’s co-host. NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon was the latest name thrown into the ring as a possible replacement. He last served as a co-host in 2008.
As for Strahan, he’s enjoying the break and told Chelsea Handler on her Netflix talk show on Friday, “I really haven’t missed it.” He added, “Don’t get me wrong. I loved it. When you get a break, sometimes you kind of go, ‘Wow, I kind of needed it.’ I needed a break.”
Live will repeat episodes with guest co-hosts Fred Savage and Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos.

D.L. Hughley Is Back for Round Two of Co-Hosting ‘Live.’
Hughley makes a return visit to the desk with Ripa on Monday, June 27. He last joined her earlier this month to chat with Eric Dane and to cook with Freddie Prinze Jr.
On Monday, he and Ripa will sit down with Alexander Skarsgård, who stars as Tarzan in the new movie The Legend of Tarzan. They also will welcome Merle Dandridge to talk about her new series Greenleaf on OWN.
Anderson Cooper Will Learn How to Survive Summer.
Cooper continues to find time to join his good friend Ripa to co-host another episode of Live. The CNN anchor will make his third appearance on the show this month and last time he was on, Ripa had him swinging from hoops.
On Tuesday, the co-hosts will chat with Scott Speedman about his TNT drama, Animal Kingdom, and Mel B. will stop by to talk about this season of NBC’s American’s Got Talent. Cooper and Ripa will also learn some tricks for surviving summer from Dr. Greg Yapalater.
