‘Live With Kelly’: Who Are the Guest Co-Hosts for the Week of June 6

It’s week four in the search for Kelly Ripa’s new co-host on Live with Kelly. For the week of June 6, Ripa will be joined by D.L. Hughley, Joel McHale, Ryan Seacrest and Alec Baldwin.

Baldwin’s name was mentioned early as a possible replacement for Michael Strahan, who exited as Ripa’s co-host on May 13. Strahan has joined ABC’s Good Morning America full-time. Rob Lowe and Taye Diggs are the other frontrunners for the job, according to Us Weekly.

Here are the guest co-hosts joining Ripa at the desk this coming week.

D.L. Hughley Will Make His Sixth Guest Host Appearance

Hughley will join Ripa as her guest co-host on Monday. It’s his sixth time guest hosting and his first time since 2012. During Ripa’s last search for new co-host Hughley “auditioned” three times as a possible replacement for Philbin, who left the show after 23 years in 2011.

They will sit down with Eric Dane, who’s promoting the new season of TNT’s The Last Ship, and Freddie Prinze Jr. will prepare a meal from his cookbook, “Back to the Kitchen.”

‘Live’ Doubles Down on Joel McHale

Joel McHale will fill-in on Tuesday and Wednesday. He has served as a guest co-host five times all coming in 2012 during Ripa’s last co-host search.

On Tuesday, he and Ripa will talk with The Late Late Show host James Corden about hosting the 2016 Tony Awards. They will also be joined by the newly crowned Miss USA, who will pick up her crown at the 2016 Miss USA pageant on Sunday, June 5.

On Wednesday, actor Ethan Hawke stops by and Marc Anthony chats about his upcoming shows at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The co-hosts also welcome Dan + Shay for a performance.

Ryan Seacrest Is Looking Forward to Hugging Ripa on Thursday

Seacrest has cleared one day out of his busy schedule to join Ripa on Live. He has only served as a guest host once back in 2005, and last appeared as a guest in January to promote the final season of American Idol.

His daily radio show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest will keep him from taking Live co-host gig permanently, but he told Entertainment Tonight last month that he’s excited to spend the day with Ripa.

She’s asked me to come on for a day right at the beginning of June, and so I’m looking forward to hugging her and seeing her… I’ve known Kelly forever. She’s phenomenal, so to get a chance to sit by her for a day is a blessing.

Ripa and Seacrest will speak with Mark Ruffalo, who stars in Now You See Me 2, and Warcraft actress Paul Patton. They also will enjoy a performance by Michael Franti & Spearhead.

Alec Baldwin Wants to Do a Show Where He Can Stay Home

Baldwin’s name came up early as a possible replacement for Strahan even before the former NFL player had made his official exit. The 30 Rock star told Ellen Degeneres on May 12 that he has “always wanted to do a show where I can stay home” and Live with Kelly films in Manhattan where Baldwin lives.

He makes his second guest host appearance on Friday. He and Ripa will sit down with Central Intelligence star Dwayne Johnson and Aaron Tveit, who stars in the new CBS summer drama, BrainDead.
