Tonight was the 2016 Miss USA Pageant, with 51 contestants involved in the competition. So, who was crowned the winner? And the winner is … Miss Texas Karlie Hay.
The second runner-up for Miss Teen USA was Miss South Carolina. The first runner-up takes the place of the winner should she not be able to fulfill her duties as Miss USA. And, the first runner-up was … Miss North Carolina.
For the top 5 questions, Miss North Carolina was up first. She was asked about the postcards she collects from all the places she has traveled, like Peru, Nice and Cozumel. Up next was Miss Nevada. She talked about her gain and loss of 40 pounds, saying that family stress had caused her to gain weight. She turned her life around and is now a personal trainer, hoping to help others with their self-image. Miss Texas was asked about her memorization of the U.S. Constitution, so she read off a section. Next was Miss Alabama, who talked about her travels and she said one of her favorite places to visit was Kuwait. Miss South Carolina was up last and she was asked about the program Crayons For Kids that she created. She explained that, as a person with a learning disability, this is her main cause, to help other kids growing up with similar situations.
The judges then asked each of the girls questions as well. Most of them handled the questions very well and there were no serious hiccups.
Miss Photogenic Teen USA went to Miss Alabama … and Miss Rhode Island picked up an award as well.
