Some fans are theorizing that Elliot may actually have more personas hidden inside him (and hidden within the show) than just Mr. Robot himself. One fan favorite theory is that Elliot and Tyrell are the same person. Some fans think this is impossible, but others reason that if Mr. Robot and Elliot could be the same, then he and Tyrell could be the same too. With Mr. Robot, every time that he was talking and Elliot was in the background, Elliot was "observing" the scene as if he were a third person and he knew what was happening, although he thought Mr. Robot was a separate identity too. In the scenes where Mr. Robot interacted with other people and Elliot was not there, it was actually Elliot interacting with people, but he had no memory of what was happening. So fans who favor the Tyrell-is-Elliot theory believe the same type of thing could be true again. If Elliot's friends sometimes played along with his Mr. Robot persona, knowing he had issues, they might do the same for Tyrell. And if Tyrell's wife knew about his issues, she might treat him differently depending on which "personality" was present.
But other fans think this is just too much of a stretch. Gideon suspected Elliot, but told Tyrell about the honeypot when they were alone, for example. When Elliot asked the secretary about Tyrell, she told him that Tyrell didn't work there anymore. And that doesn't even take into account the time that Elliot was kidnapped and brought to a room full of lawyers and offered a job.
