Who called Elliot at the end of Mr. Robot? (USA Network)

The season premiere of Mr. Robot was everything that fans had hoped for. The season is already looking like it’s going to be darker and far more intense than Season 1. But there was one question from the end of Episode 1 that left many fans wondering what to expect next week. Who called Elliot at the end of the episode?

Here’s what you need to know.

(Spoilers through the premiere and if the theory is correct.)

When Elliot picked up the phone at the end of the episode, the person on the other end said: “Bonsoir Elliot.” This points clearly to one character making the call:

Tyrell Wellick.

Why can we make this assumption?

Primarily because Tyrell was known in Season 1 for addressing Elliot as “Bonsoir Elliot.” (No, not “Bonjour.”) Bonsoir means “good night.” If you want to compare the phone call to Tyrell’s voice when he said “Bonsoir Elliot,” watch the end of the video below:

Interestingly, in the final scene of the pilot of Mr. Robot, Tyrell said “Bonsoir Elliot.” And that’s how the premiere of Season 2 ended also. That’s really all we need to know in order to make the connection.

No one called Elliot. Elliot called Wellick. The phone is clearly ringing through the line when Elliot comes out of his fugue state.

Elliot said, ” I will not go crazy who will go crazy will be you ” to his father’s ghost , or for us to watch ?
