On the premiere for season 3 of Bachelor In Paradise, Bachelorette villain Chad Johnson lived up to his name and beyond when he got wasted and verbally assaulted many of the cast members. One cast member who Johnson particularly insulted was Sarah Herron, who is missing part of one of her arms. Johnson ended up making fun of this and called her a “one-armed bitch.”
After watching the episode at home, Johnson posted a message on Twitter, stating:
I should’ve never ever EVER said that abt @sarahherron tonight. I was a dick. I’m disappointed in myself.
Watch his Twitter apology in the below tweet.
Herron responded to the apology on Twitter, saying she believed he was sorry, but that he should apologize to her directly instead of “on a stage.” Several other cast members came to Herron’s defense online. Nick Viall tweeted:
Mad props 2 my great friend @sarahherron 4 standing up for women. “I’m kidding” will never justify disrespecting women #BachelorInParadise.
In addition, host Chris Harrison tweeted not to mess with his Bachelor family.
Sarah Herron recently gave an interview to Entertainment Tonight, where she had a change of heart, saying she didn’t think Johnson was actually sorry. Herron explained:
It was disrespectful. It was way below the belt … [Chad] keeps saying it was a joke, and he was being funny, but he actually said really horrible things … I think if he really wanted to apologize to me, which he still should, and can, it should be in person. Reach out to me — don’t do it on Twitter, don’t do it with a camera in your face. I just feel like he’s not sorry … He’s not taking any of it seriously. You’re making fun of something I have no control over. I was born this way, and if you want to take stabs at people with disabilities, that’s gnarly.
Nick Viall also told Entertainment Tonight that Chad Johnson is just how he seems on TV and that the show had plenty of footage it could have used against Johnson.
