WATCH: Jimmy Kimmel’s Opening Monologue for the 2016 Emmy Awards

The 2016 Emmys opened up with host Jimmy Kimmel filming mocked versions of some of the nominated projects from tonight’s awards. He started off in the white Ford Bronco from The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, but he didn’t stop there. He appeared with cast members from several shows and even engaged in Carpool Karaoke with James Corden before Corden kicked him out of the vehicle. The stars of Veep definitely hesitated to give Kimmel a ride though they congratulated him on his hosting duties. Jeb Bush ended up being one of the drivers, joking that he’s in between jobs right now.

Soon, Kimmel made it out onto the stage to official start his hosting gig, immediately handing an Emmy Award to Jeffrey Tambor, joking that saved the show 22 minutes. He also acknowledged that Sarah Paulson brought her character’s inspiration from The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Marcia Clark to the Emmys. Kimmel poked fun at each of the cast members from John Travolta to Cuba Gooding Jr. He then moved on to Game of Thrones and joked about masturbating to the show.

Kimmel said that he recognized the large amount of diversity at the Emmys and, of course, made light of the subject. Then Donald Trump became the big subject, as Jimmy Kimmel thanked the man behind The Celebrity Apprentice, blaming him for Trump’s possibly becoming President – Mark Burnett.
