Lindsey Vonn is an American World Cup alpine skier who will be taking on the mountains of Corsica on tonight’s episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls. On tonight’s episode, Vonn tells Bear that she’s currently single and has enjoyed “putting the priority back on [herself]” for a change, according to People.
The 31-year-old US Ski Team member has won four World Cup Championships, and has received a significant amount of press coverage for an alpine skier. Vonn has made appearances on The Today Show, Access Hollywood, and The Late Show with David Letterman, and is estimated to have an estimated net worth of around $3 million.
In 2012, Vonn and Tiger Woods met at a charity event. The two dated for three years before splitting in May of 2015. The <a href="http://Vonn said Sunday on Facebook that the Olympic ski champion and 14-time major golf winner lead “incredibly hectic” lives that forced them to spend most of their time apart. She says Woods and his family “will always hold a special place in my heart.”" The Huffington Post reported that the couple’s hectic schedules got in the way of their relationship, but that Woods would “always hold a special place in [her] heart.”
On tonight’s episode, Vonn tells Bear that she and Woods are “still on good terms” after their breakup. In an exclusive sneak peak obtained by People, the Olympic skier says, “I loved him so much, and I still do and it just didn’t work, you know?”
Before dating Woods, Vonn was married to fellow US Ski Team athlete Thomas Vonn, who she met when she was just 16-years-old. The two were married on September 29, 2007, and officially divorced on January 9, 2013. A year before the separation, Vonn opened up to the Daily Mail about her divorce. The then 28-year-old revealed that while everything appeared to be going great in front of the cameras, the reality was that she was dealing with a failing marriage and depression. She told People, “Everyone saw me on TV, or read articles, and it was all about my great marriage, the white picket fence, all this success and my perfect life. But behind the scenes, it was a struggle.'” Vonn added on that nothing specifically bad happened in her marriage– it was just “unhappy”.
In April, the Daily Mail reported that Vonn and actor Alexander Ludwig, 23, were looking “cosy” after leaving a restaurant in West Hollywood. Vonn later told TMZ that the two were just friends, but that she was “open-minded” about a romance with him.
Tonight, Vonn reveals to Bear Grylls that she needs to be single at the moment, and has therefore not been dating anyone. People reports her as saying, “It’s nice to put the priority back on myself and just do what I need to do.”
