Singer Kanye West suddenly left stage mid-set for a “family emergency” the evening of October 2, according to numerous reports on Twitter.
CNN news editor Joe Sutton ended the mystery of why, saying that Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint by armed men in her hotel room but was not harmed.

“I’m sorry. There’s a family emergency. I have to stop the show,” West had said, and then abruptly left the stage in the middle of the song, “Heartless.”
More than an hour after Kanye made the announcement and left stage, there was still no word from the West and Kardashian camps as to what happened – until Sutton’s post.
Audience members shouted: “Oh my God!” and “What happened to Kim?”
One man tweeted, “Dude just ran on stage and grabbed Kanye and he said, “Sorry guys, family emergency I have to leave the show” and just ran off the stage…”
Another man said Kanye was pulled aside by his assistant.
Videos posted by those in the audience show that Kanye was in the middle of the song “Heartless,” with fans into the performance, when suddenly he stopped singing and said he had to leave.

The Meadows confirmed the information, writing on Twitter, “Due to an emergency, Kanye West had to end his performance early. Please get home safely.”

According to MIC, “At approximately the same time West was rushing off stage, Kardashian-West was uploading an image to Snapchat congratulating Rob Kardashian and Black Chyna on their baby shower.”
News outlets contacted reps for Kim Kardashian and West but had not yet received any information from them. Rolling Stone was among those who did not receive comment yet from the reps.

Billboard reported: “Kanye was headlining the Meadows Festival tonight, and had gone on stage at 8:45 p.m. He was scheduled to perform until 10 p.m., but ended his set at 9:40” because of the unidentified family emergency.
An hour later, there was still no word.
According to Consequence of Sound blog, Kanye left about 10 minutes “before his set’s scheduled end time, mid-way through his performance of ‘Heartless.'”
According to Billboard, Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian, and her sisters Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian “are all in Paris, according to their recent Snapchat posts.”
Concerned fans tweeted to Kanye and his wife, Kim Kardashian, asking for more information.
Fans expressed concern, saying that it was unlike West to leave stage that way.

However, some fans were upset about the abruptly ended concert, even using expletives on social media.
There were no immediate clues as to what happened from West’s Twitter page or Kim Kardashian’s. Kanye West hasn’t posted on his Twitter page for several weeks. Kim Kardashian last posted on Twitter about five hours before Kanye left stage, and her post did not indicate anything was amiss.
