Tonight, actor John Cho will be competing against Sir Ben Kingsley in the hit Spike TV show, Lip Sync Battle. The 44-year-old actor is known for many things– not only did he did he play Harold in the Harold & Kumar films, but he popularized the term “MILF” after using it in the American Pie movies. Cho is married to a woman who also has a creative side– Kerri Higuchi. The couple met at UC Berkeley and then dated in LA later on.

1. They Got Married in 2006
Cho and Higuchi married in 2006. Not much is known about the pair’s relationship– they’re notoriously private, and Cho doesn’t offer much up during interviews. One thing Cho has revealed is that Higuchi is the one who persuaded him to give therapy a try. In a 2015 interview with Glamour, Cho was asked why he’s such a big proponent of therapy. He responded by saying, “I think my wife…I know it’s an old joke that women get their husbands to go to therapy, but men don’t talk enough about it. God bless my guy friends, who are great, especially when they say, ‘Dude, you’re gonna get through this. Let me buy you a drink,’ but there’s only so much they can do for you.”
Cho also revealed to the news outlet what it was that drew him to Higuchi. “My wife was confident in a way that I was very attracted to. She knows who she is. I knew nothing about that. I was so unsettled at that age and so scatterbrained. It’s beautiful when you see a person who’s self-assured and knows who she is.”
2. They Have Two Children Together

Higuchi and Cho welcomed their son in 2008, and their daughter in 2013.
Cho lived in Seoul, South Korea, for six years until moving to the States in 1978. In his interview with Glamour, he says he doesn’t recall much other than coming home and watching cartoons in the evening. Cho also said that he grew up speaking Korean, but learned how to speak English by watching TV. “Sesame Street early on and then Little House on the Prairie was a big deal in our house.”
3. Higuchi Is an Actress and Director
Higuchi is an actress and director herself, and even appeared on an episode of Selfie. When Glamour asked Cho how often Higuchi gets to work, he explained that she doesn’t get too many opportunities with her schedule. “She’s mainly a stay-at-home mom, but she’s such a good actor. I’ve learned a lot from her.”
4. Both Acted in Grey’s Anatomy
Higuchi played the role of Elizabeth Chen in seasons one and six of Grey’s Anatomy. Chen was an OB/GYN at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital, and fought with Meredith after a baby turned blue because of a heart condition.
Cho happened to act in the show, as well– he played Marshall Stone in Season two. Stone is a surgical intern who had a driving accident when he fell asleep at the wheel. He’s treated by Dr. Derek Shepherd, who conducts a CT exam on Stone that ends up being clear.
5. Cho Has an Estimated Net Worth of $20 Million

John Cho has an estimated net worth of about $20 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. The Korean-American actor has earned his money from a variety of projects, including Harold & Kumar, in which he plays Harold, and Star Treck, where he plays Sulu.
Cho moved to LA from South Korea when he was just six. In 1999, he got his big break in the American Pie Film, where he popularized the term, “MILF”.
