Last year, CBS revived the iconic sitcom The Odd Couple, a property first created by Neil Simon as a stage play, then turned into a film. The latest incarnation of The Odd Couple stars Matthew Perry as the messy sportswriter Oscar Madison and Thomas Lennon as the clean freak Felix Unger. The show will finally get to start a season in the fall, after seasons one and two started in the second half of the last two TV seasons. The Odd Couple's third season starts on October 17.
In an interview with TV Guide, executive producer Bob Daily said that the new season picks up three months after season two ended. Felix is still in a relationship with Emily (Lindsay Sloane), who is now in England. Oscar is dating Charlotte (Teri Hatcher).
The new season is also the first since the death of Gary Marshall, who was instrumental in bringing the original show with Jack Klugman and Tony Randall to life. Marshall was an executive producer on the new series. "It really was a blow. He was sort of our mascot/guiding light/the guy that always made us laugh," Daily told TV Guide.
