Tonight was part 1 of the finale for season 23’s Dancing With the Stars and the night was filled with amazing moments as well as missteps. James Hinchcliffe and Jana Kramer both suffered issues in parts of their performances tonight and Calvin Johnson Jr. got deducted for a small lift of partner Lindsay Arnold. Laurie Hernandez, however, got through the evening with, pretty much, flawless routines. Tomorrow is the grand finale of the show and one contestant will walk away with the mirrorball trophy. But, tonight, one out of the four remaining contestants had to be eliminated. So, who had to say goodbye at the end of tonight’s episode? The couple going home tonight was … Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko.
Laurie Hernandez, Jana Kramer, James Hinchcliffe and Calvin Johnson Jr. were the remaining four contestants on tonight’s show. Each contestant had to perform a redemption routine, reliving a past performance style that they struggled with on the show. In addition, each performed a freestyle routine. The first couple announced as safe tonight was Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy, followed by Calvin Johnson Jr. with Lindsay Arnold. Then it was down to Jana Kramer vs. James Hinchcliffe, but only one could move on in the competition. Check out Kramer’s redemption performance from tonight in the below video.
