Jay Pharoah, SNL: 2016 American Music Awards

Jay Pharoah will be hosting the 2016 American Music Awards tonight with supermodel Gigi Hadid. The 29-year-old is perhaps best known for his work on SNL-- he joined the cast of the show in 2010 for its 36th season, and effortlessly impersonated people like Jay Z, Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Lil Wayne, and Denzel Washington. Last year, Pharoah's work on the comedy series earned him the title of the 55th greatest Saturday Night Live cast member by Rolling Stone Magazine. Tonight, the AMAs will include performances by major artists like Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, Shawn Mendes, and more. Speaking with E! News earlier this week, Pharoah said, "The comedy ground is a fertile ground right now because there are so many things happening and we ain't holdin' back, so buckle up and get ready! I think it's going to be a good experience." Click through our gallery to learn more about tonight's AMAs host. (Getty)
