Karen Fairchild

Karen Fairchild began singing in the mid-1990s, as part of a Christian vocal group called Truth. She was featured as a lead singer in a few of their songs. Around that time, Karen formed a duo with KarenLeigh of Point of Grace, who produced songs like "Save It For a Rainy Day", and "This Love Has". In 1997, Fairchild met Kimberly Roads at Samford University in Alabama. The women moved to Nashville together, where they began singing as a group. When band member Jimi Westbrook joined the group, Fairchild was married, but a few years later, she got divorced. Fairchild tells Great American Country, "I think there was always something underlying there that we were trying to ignore. Then when the opportunity came, when all of us ended up single at the same time … those feelings, you were able to come out with them finally. It was like, ‘We’re single. Let’s get together.'" The two married on May 31, 2006, at a small ceremony in Nashville. They welcomed their first child about four years later. (Getty)
