Law & Order: SVU is not on NBC‘s schedule for tonight, as the peacock network has decided to air two hours of Chicago PD instead. Olivia Benson and the rest of the Special Victims Unit will be taking an extended break, since the show doesn’t return until Wednesday, January 4 at 9 p.m. ET.

IMDb lists the next episode, “Great Expectations,” as airing on November 30 and “Unstoppable” as airing on December 7. However, the official NBC site says that the show will not be back until January 4.

The most recent episode of SVU was “Broken Rhymes,” which aired back on November 9 and touched on how transgender people are viewed in the hip hop community. Wyclef Jean guest starred as the CEO of a record label who was questioned when a transgender student was assaulted.

SVU‘s 18th season has been plagued with scheduling issues. “Broken Rhymes” was supposed to air on November 2, but it was held back because of Game 7 of the World Series on Fox the same night.

NBC has also been struggling to figure out the right time to air “Unstoppable,” which stars Gary Cole as a Donald Trump-type character who is accused of assaulting several women. The episode was originally going to air before the November 8 election, but it was delayed. Most recently, it was supposed to air on November 16.

The series is currently the only remaining show from Dick Wolf’s Law & Order franchise. The series stars Mariska Hargitay as Olivia Benson, as well as Ice-T, Kelli Giddish, Peter Scanavino and Raúl Esparza. In 2005, Hargitay won a Golden Globe for her role and she picked up an Emmy in 2006.
