The Ice Age franchise might not be as popular as it once was, but Fox is still going ahead with its annual airing of Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas. The animated Christmas Special, featuring all of the main characters and their original voices, will air on Tuesday, December 20 at 8:00 p.m. ET on Fox. Read on for a preview of the special.

A Mammoth Christmas first aired on November 24, 2011 and was nominated for the Annie Award for Best Animated Special Production. In the half-hour special, the characters get ready for Santa Claus’s visit. Sid, Eddie and Crash find themselves on the “Naughty List” and try to convince Santa that they don’t belong on the list. They even meet one of Santa’s flying reindeer, Prancer.

The film was directed by Karen Disher, who also helmed the Surviving Sid video short and worked on MTV’s Daria. It was written by Sam Harper (Rio, Open Season) and Mike Reiss (The Simpsons, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs).

The Ice Age franchise did not have a great 2016. The fifth film in the franchise, Ice Age: Collision Course was a flop, only grossing $64 million in the U.S. It made $343.4 million from foreign markets though, proving that the franchise still has some fans outside the U.S.
