Celebrities Protesting Tonight Outside Trump International Hotel – ‘We Stand United’

Celebrities Protest At Trump International Hotel

For months, celebrities across the board have been protesting against President Elect Donald Trump. Meryl Streep made headlines when she recently dedicated her Golden Globes acceptance speech to speaking out against Trump. Condemning Trump, Streep stated: This instinct to humiliate, when it's modeled by someone in the public platform, by someone powerful, it filters down into everybody's life, because it kind of gives permission for other people to do the same thing. Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence incites violence. When the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose. Trump fired back via Twitter, calling Streep "over-rated" and a "Hillary flunky." Other celebrities who have openly spoken out against Trump include Viola Davis, Robert De Niro, Lena Dunham, Lady Gaga, George Clooney, Katy Perry, Cher, Chelsea Handler, the list goes on. Tonight from 6 - 8 p.m. ET, A-list stars, speakers and the public will gather in front of the Trump International Hotel in NYC on Columbus Circle to express their opinions about the President Elect. Greenpeace and MoveOn.org will be present as well. Read on to see the prominent stars and public figures attending, along with their personal views on Trump. Organizers are calling tonight's event a unity rally, with the title "We Stand United." (Getty)
