Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling – ‘La La Land’

Tonight, La La Land leads with nominations in seven categories at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards: Best Musical or Comedy, Best Director (Damien Chazelle), Best Screenplay (Damien Chazelle), Best Original Song, Best Original Score (Justin Hurwitz), Best Actor in Musical or Comedy (Ryan Gosling), and Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy (Emma Stone). The 74th annual Golden Globe Awards will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon, and will air live from the Beverly Hilton, with E!'s red carpet beginning at 7pm ET. The winners of the Golden Globes are hand-picked by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), a non-profit organization of about 90 journalists and photographers. Many people view the Golden Globes as a precursor of the Oscars, as many Golden Globe winners go on to win Oscars in their respective categories. Each year, the HPFA gives the title of Mr or Miss Golden Globe to the child of a Hollywood star, and this year, Sylester Stallone's daughters, Sophia, Scarlet, and Sistine, will all share the title. La La Land marks the third film in which Ryan Gosling have starred as love interests-- the other two being Crazy, Stupid, Love and Gangster Squad. The movie follows a young actress (Stone) and a musician (Gosling), who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival on August 31, 2016, and was released in the US on December 9, 2016. It was chosen by the American Film Institute as one of the top films of 2016.
