‘Star Wars Rebels’ Midseason Premiere: What Time & Channel Is it On?

Ghosts of Geonosis, Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Rebels spoilers

(Lucasfilm)

The first new episode of Star Wars Rebels since the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is finally here. The hour-long midseason premiere, “Ghosts of Geonosis,” airs on Disney XD at 8:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 7, 2017. Read on for a preview of the episode.

“Ghosts of Geonosis” is an episode that’s very tied to Rogue One. Saw Gerrera, who first appeared in The Clone Wars and was played by Forest Whitaker in the film, makes an appearance, as the Ghost team travels to Geonosis to find a Rebel team that was sent there. Geonosis is the same planet that played a key role in the Clone Wars. After all, that’s where the war began in Attack of the Clones. Geonosis is also where the Empire began building the Death Star.

The previous episode of Rebels was “Visions and Voices,” in which Darth Maul caught up with the Ghost team, under the assumption that Ezra is still his apprentice. Maul and Ezra finally learned what they were supposed to get from the Holocrons. Maul learned that Obi-Wan Kenobi is still alive and living on Tatooine, while Ezra learned that he also has to find Kenobi to defeat the Sith. Kenobi was prominently featured in the amazing trailer for the second half of the season, which you can see below.
