Will Sophie take Kevin back? Will Kate really start a relationship with the “horse guy” at the weight-loss camp? Will William finally let Randall out of the car? Unfortunately, none of these questions were answered tonight on NBC because the network ran episodes of The Wall. “I Call Marriage” doesn’t air until Tuesday, February 7 at 9 p.m. ET. Read on for a preview of the episode.

In “Three Sentences,” creator Dan Fogelman and his writers took Kate and Kevin in new directions. In the past, Rebecca and Jack had to hold three separate birthday parties for the kids’ 10th birthday, learning that having a fourth kid might not be the best idea.

In the present, Kate has decided to attend a weight-loss camp to delay her gastric-bypass surgery. While there, she meets Duke (Adam Bartley), who clearly wants a relationship with Kate, even though she already told him she’s engaged. Meanwhile, Kevin gets some tips from Toby about how to fix his love life. Surprisingly the person Kevin thinks is “the one” is a woman we hadn’t met before – his ex-wife, Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge). In the past, we learned that Sophie was Kate’s best friend and a girl Kevin had a crush on.

Randall had a story in the episode, too. He’s now got a rival at work (Hari Dhillon), but William distracts him from getting his job done. William felt much better after stopping chemotherapy and wanted to enjoy his time in the sun while he still can.

In “I Call Marriage,” these threads will continue to develop. Here’s the episode description from NBC:

Toby throws a wrench in Kate’s weight loss journey. Randall struggles to accept his father’s deteriorating health. Miguel and Shelly break some devastating news to Jack and Rebecca, which makes them worry about their own relationship. Rebecca receives an amazing work opportunity. Kevin examines his romantic past.
