Beyonce’s BeyHive Reacts to Messy Mya ‘Formation’ Lawsuit on Twitter

Beyonce is facing a $20 million lawsuit from the estate of late YouTube and New Orleans bounce star, Messy Mya, aka Anthony Barre. The star’s sister, Angel Barre, is claiming the music video for “Formation,” and the visual album, Lemonade, is copyright infringement. According to the lawsuit, Beyonce was never granted permission to sample Barre’s voice.

Well, as is with any other Beyonce scandal, her fans on social media, aka the BeyHive, have taken to Twitter to defend the singer and bash Messy Mya’s estate for the this lawsuit. Thankfully, the BeyHive posters aren’t going after the late Barre, but rather the copyright infringement claims.

At first, people were taking to Twitter to point out the fact that Beyonce did in fact credit Messy Mya in the “Formation” music video:
