In July 2015, Chance the Rapper announced that he was expecting his first child with his girlfriend Kirsten Corley, who he has since been on-and-off again with. At the 2017 Grammys, Chance the Rapper, whose real name is Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, took the stage to accept the award for Best New Artist.

1. She Gave Birth to Their Daughter in 2015
In September 2015, Corley gave birth to her and Chance the Rapper’s daughter, Kinsley Bennett. When he took to the stage to accept his award for Best New Artist at the 2017 Grammys on Sunday, the 23-year-old gave a special shout out to Kinsley. “I wanna thank God for my mother and my father who’ve supported me since I was young. For Kirsten and Kensli, for all of Chicago.”
2. She and Chance the Rapper Were Working Out a Parenting Agreement in Court Last Year
In May of 2016, the Chicago Tribune reported that Corley had filed a petition asking courts to declare Chance the Rapper the father of their daughter after they stopped living together. The Chicago Tribute writes, “In the filing, Corley said she should remain the ‘sole caretaker’ of the girl, who lived exclusively with her. Corley asked the court to require the rapper, whose birth name is Chancelor Bennett, to pay child support retroactive to the girl’s birth, expenses incurred during pregnancy and delivery and attorneys fees.”
3. Chance the Rapper Acknowledged Her at the 2017 Grammys
Along with acknowledging his daughter, Chance the Rapper gave a shout out to Corley, herself. After accepting the Grammy, Chance said, “I just want to say thank you to my team for being here. (Expletive) this is crazy. Thank God for this. Damn, I’m shaking, this is crazy. Thank you everybody for supporting me… I love my family, I love God and I love music. Thank you guys.”
4. She Withdrew Her Court Petition Last Month
In January, Corley withdrew her court petition to set a parenting schedule with Chance to take care of their daughter, according to the Chicago Tribune. Corley’s attorney, Enrico Mirabelli, told the Tribune, “All is well, and the motion has been withdrawn.”
5. Her Daughter Met the Obamas Earlier This Year
In January, Chance uploaded an Instagram of Kensli meeting President Barack and Michelle Obama.
He captioned the post with, “Look up Kensli, say cheese!” Kensli appears to be a bit confused, but Chance looks ecstatic in the pic! Kensli makes frequent appearances on her dad’s Instagram. Check out some of the cutest posts below.
