Lawyer Sunny Hostin is Senior Legal Analyst for ABC News and a co-host on The View. She’s married to Dr. Emmanuel Hostin. They have two children, son Gabriel and daughter Paloma.
Hostin transitioned from practicing law to television when she joined Court TV And then earned a spot on Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor. She then went to ABC News, where she co-anchored World News Now and America This Morning. In 2007, she moved over to CNN, where she remained until 2016. She then re-joined ABC News full-time.
The 48-year-old Hostin and the 46-year-old Dr. Emmanuel Hostin have been married since 1998. Here’s a look at their relationship and her family.
1. He’s a Sports Doctor & Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Emmanuel Hostin is a sports doctor and orthopedic surgeon, Hostin told Into The Gloss. She said that he constantly asks her how she can wear heels and warns her about potential issues with her feet in the future.
According to Emmanuel’s Doximity profile, his office is in Long Island City, New York and is affiliated with Mount Sinai West, Lenox Hill Hospital, and Mount Sinai St. Luke’s. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and has had a New York State Medical License since 2002.
2. Their Children are Named Gabriel & Paloma

Emmanuel ad Hostin’s children are son Gabriel and daughter Paloma. In a recent Instagram post, Hostin said that Gabriel has been skiing since he was 3 years old.
In an interview with Diversity Woman, Hostin said that she reported on the Central American refugee children from the perspective of a mother.
“I don’t look at it as a border crisis,” she told the site. “I look at it through a humanitarian lens. If a mother would take a chance sending her child alone to America, then her situation must be very dire.”
Hostin is half African American and Puerto Rican, and one of her grandfathers is Jewish.
3. He Traveled to Haiti for Medical Missions After the 2010 Haitian Earthquake

After the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Emmanuel traveled there a few times on medical missions. In an interview with LoHud.com in February 2016, Hostin said her husband was often paid with needlepoints they used to decorate their house.
“He did whatever he could and most people could not pay him. These needlepoints are often some of the most expensive things people owned,” Hostin told LoHud.ocom. “For them to give these to my husband was incredibly meaningful. They are priceless.”
At their former home in Purchase, New York, the couple prominently displayed the needelpoints, alongside their priceless art collection.

5. They Co-Own the Alvin & Friends Restaurant in New Rochelle, New York
The Hostins co-own Alvin & Friends with Alvin Clayton in New Rochelle, New York. When Diversity Woman asked how Hostin can find time to run a restaurant, she replied, “Sleep is overrated.”
One day, Hostin was stunned to see that Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor was eating at the restaurant. “She was my hero. Our stories are so similar—prosecuting attorneys, raised in the South Bronx by Puerto Rican mothers. I had followed her whole career, not just on the Supreme Court, but from when she was on the federal bench in New York,” Hostin told Diversity Woman.
Hostin is also a pro-life Catholic, as she made clear on The View in January 2017.
“My faith tells me that life begins at conception. My faith tells me that abortion is wrong. My faith tells me that it’s a sin,” Hostin said, later adding, “My point has been all along is that you can’t define the pro-life movement by the fringe that you see, people that are killing abortion doctors, people who are extremists. I think we can all agree that abortion is not a good thing… It’s nothing something anyone wants to do.”
