Today, HBO announced that Game of Thrones is premiere on July 16, 2017. HBO also released an absolutely gorgeous minute-and-a-half teaser video called “Sigils” on Twitter and YouTube. Although most of the quotes in the video are from past seasons, fans are still coming up with clues and theories based on the short trailer. Are you ready to “get hype” about Season 7? These are some clues from the video. We’ll update this post in the coming days, so keep an eye out for more ideas and clues. You can watch the video above.

“The Great War” Line Sounds Like It’s Said By Davos

(HBO/Game of Thrones)

First, fans were quick to point out that all the lines in the video were from past seasons except possibly one. At the very end, there’s a very compelling line that says:

There’s only one war that matters. The Great War. And it is here.

Many fans think this is a new line said by Jon Snow. But actually, it sounds more like Davos saying the line. Check out this YouTube video of Davos and compare how the voices sound:

And around 1:17 in this video, Davos speaks about the war between the living and the dead:

We See the White Walkers’ Famous ‘Swirl of Bodies’

Near the end of the video, you also see this above. This photo is from a scene that Heavy wrote about last year here. Here’s a clearer picture of what you’re seeing, from a screenshot taken from a previous episode in Season 3:

This swirl has deeper meaning. The White Walkers were first created by the Children of the Forest at a great tree that was surrounded by stones which were set up in a swirl pattern. When they kill people, they sometimes put the bodies into a similar swirl pattern that emulates where they were first created. In this photo below, you can see the swirl of the stones where they were first created:

For comparison, here is the tree where the White Walkers were located, as seen in Season 5. It looks exactly like the swirls of dead bodies that they created that we saw in the teaser trailer.

The White Walkers’ Litter of Dead Bodies Is Consumed in a Giant Blue Eye

(HBO)

Another compelling part of the video is the giant blue eye seen at the end. The White Walkers have blue eyes, so this might be the eye of the Night King. However, some fans are really hoping it’s an eye of a Wight Dragon (Ice Dragon.) However, would a dragon have a circular eye like you see in the video? No, dragon eyes are typically more slitted than seen here. Here’s a video of Tyrion’s moment with a dragon:

Do you think the shot from the teaser is of an ice dragon?

Other Points From the Video

The shot of wildfire emerging from the flower while talking about Cersei is absolutely beautiful. It recalls the destruction she rained down right before the season ended.

Also, some fans have said that you can hear Catelyn Stark’s scream in the video. Could this mean there’s still hope for Stoneheart?
