Former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson was caught on video appearing to get physical with a photographer in what fans say was an attempt to protect Eleanor Calder.

According to Hollywood Life, Louis “was trying to protect his girlfriend Eleanor Calder from getting her picture taken. The altercation unfortunately takes an aggressive turn when poor Eleanor gets slammed into a wall on her way out of LAX.”
The Sun reported that Tomlinson was arrested with the female photographer insisting: “He socked me. He’s going to go to jail.” According to the Sun, “The boyband hunk could be jailed for six months after being accused of wrestling the snapper to the floor, before bundling the girl over and striking her in the face.”
Fans saw it differently, arguing that Tomlinson should not have been arrested.

The Sun also reported, “The incident unfolded when Louis got into a row with a snapper who wanted to take their picture and Eleanor tried to stop a female fan from filming the ensuing brawl.” Eleanor, according to the Sun, is a “British fashion blogger, model and stylist” who previously dated Tomlinson.

At one point in the chaotic video, people fall to the ground before a brawl ensues at the Los Angeles airport.
Fans sprung to the defense of Tomlinson on social media. Some people were using the hashtag #WeSupportLouis and #WeLoveYouEleanor in support of the stars.
