After his dreams of finding love were cut short when both bachelorettes Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe left him heartbroken, Nick has narrowed down the field of 30 bachelorettes to two captivating women – Raven and Vanessa – both of whom he is falling for. Who does Nick, after much soul-searching, see as his future wife? It is no surprise that he is anxious, conflicted and fearful of being rejected again.

Vanessa Worries Nick Viall’s Family
When Vanessa sits down with Nick Viall’s parents, she lets them know that she has never been engaged, but she does have her concerns. She tells his family that she does love Viall, but wants to know if love is enough to make a relationship last. ABC reports:
Raven makes a lasting first impression, winning over Nick’s parents and his sister Bella. However a cautious Vanessa leaves Nick’s parents worried when she can’t say whether she would be ready to accept a proposal. Nick hopes his final dates with the two women will bring closure to a decision that is splitting his heart in two.
For Vanessa’s final date with Nick Viall, their time together is filled with questions, as ABC reports:
Nick’s final date with Vanessa starts as a hike to a special secret destination: the snow-covered cottage of Santa Claus. Santa’s workshop even has a special gift for Vanessa. But the evening portion is dominated by what compromises they will need to make on where to live and family traditions. Her lingering questions and the fact that she may not be ready to accept a proposal leave Nick with a haunting apprehension of his past.
Viall’s father admits to worrying if Vanessa would ultimately hurt or reject his son.
Nick Viall’s Mother Is a Fan of Raven Gates
When sitting down with his mother, Nick Viall says that there are no guarantees with the girls, but he’s okay with taking the risk. His mother is concerned, but she says wonderful things about contestant Raven Gates. Viall also has flattering things to say about Gates. Viall’s mother’s biggest worry is that her son will end up blindsided. Check out their heart-to-heart conversation in the above video.
ABC reports the details of their final date together, writing:
Raven’s kind heart and easy-going manner scores points with Nick. They spend their final day together ice skating hand-in-hand on a frozen lake. Later, over an intimate dinner, she reminds Nick why he is falling in love with her. She is ready to take the next step in their future together.

Raven Gates Gets Eliminated
Even though Gates’ relationship with Nick Viall appears to be perfect, Reality Steve reports that she and Viall will not be heading to the altar. Viall reportedly proposes to Vanessa Grimaldi. Reality Steve states:
Nick is engaged to Vanessa … Will they last? Probably not. Already not hearing good things about the final couple, and I think where they are in life and location is playing a major role. However, despite everything that Nick claims, he did this season to strictly promote his career … He’s been taking acting classes in LA for a while now, so if Vanessa is even considering this relationship to be serious, she’s gonna have to move to LA for this to work. And I’m hearing she does not want to leave Canada. Sorry, but Nick is not moving to Canada.
