It’s here. Sadly, the first incredible season of This Is Us has to end at some point, and the 18th and final episode airs tonight. It’s not completely the end for the Pearson family, but it’ll be a long spring and summer without them. The season finale, titled “Moonshadow,” airs at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, March 14 on NBC. Read on for a preview of the episode.
But in the past, creator Dan Fogelman took us right to the moment Jack gets into a car and then cut to black. Kate told Toby that she blames herself for Jack’s death, because he inspired her to go see Rebecca perform in Cleveland. We’ll find out in the season finale if he makes it to the show or dies during the drive.
In a post-show interview with Entertainment Weekly, Milo Ventimiglia confirmed that Jack was drunk when he drove to Cleveland. When asked if finding out Jack’s fate will be brutal, he said it will be.
“Yeah, it is. I mean, even me, like William’s death, William’s passing in that whole episode just crushed me,” he told EW. “Crushed me, you know? And I feel that William and Jack are of the same beloved nature that people are truly going to grieve — not mourn — grieve their loss.”
