Netflix‘s April 2017 lineup is bound to have streaming subscribers laughing hysterically, but also learning about science. That’s because there’s a wave of new and old stand-up specials joining the streaming service. But the big highlight for many will be the first season of Bill Nye Saves The World.
Bill Nye returns to our TV sets to save the world with a science-oriented talk show. The first season of Bill Nye Saves The World also features a group of correspondents who will help Nye with his mission. Supermodel Karlie Kloss, space exploration advocate Emily Calandrelli, comedians Joanna Haussmann and Nazeem Hussain and Derek Muller of Veritasium join Nye on his quest to educate with edutainment. The series goes online on April 21.
After you’re done expanding your minds, you can laugh with Louis C.K. and Kevin Hart, as the two comedians both have specials debuting this month. The Netflix original Louis C.K. 2017 is available on April 4, while Hart’s 2016 theatrically released Kevin Hart: What Now hits Netflix on April 11.
And if you want to experience the greatest stand-up comedian of all time, Richard Pryor’s Richard Pryor: Live & Smokin’ from 1971 will be available on April 1.
There are plenty of movies coming to Netflix too, although the selection is a little thin. Steven Spielberg’s Best Picture Oscar-winner Schindler’s List could make good anti-April Fool’s Day entertainment on April 1, while the animated The Secret Life of Pets will have the whole family laughing.
