The standout from Drake’s recent playlist More Life saw the two singing over a romantically-tinged piece of caribbean dance music, and now, HollywoodLife reports that two are getting cozy with one another in real life. One source claims that Drake, 30, “hasn’t been this crazy about anyone since Rihanna,” while adding that he “thinks Jorja’s the sexiest thing he’s ever laid eyes on, but it’s her talent that really has him sprung. It blows him away that she’s only 19, but she has all this passion and soul.”
The source went on to say that “Drake said that he thought she was sexy when he first met her, but it wasn’t until he got her in the recording studio that he developed a full blown crush!” This is apparent in Smith’s More Life involvement, as she not only sang a chorus that was originally intended for Drake’s alleged ex Jennifer Lopez (listen to the original version here), but was the inspiration for another track, “Jorja’s Interlude,” where she provided the background vocals.
Historically, Drake’s interlude series (“Bria’s Interlude,” “Cece’s Interlude“) have been based around women that the rapper has dated, so it would be no surprise to see Smith join in this long-standing tradition. Drake has been incredibly vocal in his support for Smith, bringing her out as his opening act on tour, giving her hometown of Birmingham a shout-out, and co-signing the music video for her song “Beautiful Little Fools” on Instagram.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Drizzy has fallen for one of his musical collaborators. In the past, the rapper has been romantically linked to singers like Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and even Taylor Swift. A source for The Sun said that while Drake is “not a relationship person,” it’s more “than that just a one-off fling” when it comes to Smith.
