Tonight is the series finale of Bates Motel and many of our favorite characters are past the point of no return. The official plot description for episode 10 of season 5, titled “The Cord” is that: Norman comes home.

Show time runs from 10 – 11:06 p.m. ET/PT and will be followed by Bates Motel: The Final Check Out. The cast, fans and critics will come together to discuss and celebrate the series. Appearances will be made by actors Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore and Nestor Carbonell, along with Executive Producers Kerry Ehrin and Carlton Cuse.

Before we get into our predictions and spoilers on the finale episode, let’s briefly bring you up to speed. Dylan’s future with Emma doesn’t look bright right now, but it’s undetermined what will be in store for the couple. Currently, Dylan has a dark cloud over him as his devotion to his brother begins to consume his life again. Norman has been kidnapped from jail by Sheriff Romero, who has been pushed over the edge. At the end of last week’s episode, Romero took Norman hostage and demanded that he take him to Norma’s body. Caleb is dead. Chick is dead. And, things aren’t looking great for our three remaining men. Read on for our theories, predictions and possibilities for the end of Bates Motel.

After speaking with reliable sources, we believe that Dylan and Romero will face-off against each other. Perhaps Dylan is trying to protect his brother against Romero and he jumps in to save him. With Romero set on killing Norman, there’s no way that both of them will survive. We have a sad feeling that we will be saying goodbye to Romero for good.

For Dylan and Norman, we have several different theories. Here are our ideas about what could happen:

– Dylan helps save Norman from Romero, but realizes that he must kill Norman himself.

– With the plot description stating that, “Norman comes home,” we think there’s a good chance that Norman will die and be reunited with his mother. He will finally be a part of the peaceful existence he’s yearned for. Plus, there’s no way that Norman would be able to stay at his house and wouldn’t be returned to jail. Maybe Norman is killed or maybe he just kills himself.

– With the dark cloud over Dylan’s head, we fear that his death could definitely be a possibility, but we are hoping he makes it out of White Pine Bay alive.

– Everyone dies. Dylan. Romero. Norman.

We do not see a very happy ending happening for the cast, but our dream ending would be that Dylan makes it back home to Emma and their baby. Let’s cross our fingers. What do you think will happen?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, actor Freddie Highmore teased that:

The last episode could actually be my favorite episode that we’ve ever done … Everything seemed to click. And it made me laugh out loud. It could be the funniest episode that we’ve ever done at the same time as being the saddest.

So, what does this mean? That everyone dies? Or, was this all a figment of Norman’s imagination?

Highmore has also said that:

She (Mother) just keeps trying to box herself out of whatever corner she’s put in. She won’t go down without a good old fight.

Perhaps Norman asks Dylan to kill him, as the only way that Mother will die. Or, does Mother take everyone out, including Norman? The possibilities are endless, but we definitely see darkness in some form for the future of all who remain.
