’Dear White People’: Meet the Cast of Netflix’s New Series

Logan Browning as Samantha White

Netflix is releasing its newest series, Dear White People, on April 28. This series could be a big hit, if Netflix's synopsis and the trailers are any indication. Here's Netflix's description. "Set against the backdrop of a predominantly white Ivy League university where racial tensions bubble just below the surface, Dear White People is an hilarious send-up of “post-racial” America that weaves together the universal story of finding one’s own identity and forging a wholly unique path. The satirical series -- which picks up where the acclaimed 2014 film by the same name left off – follows a group of Winchester University’s students of color as they navigate a diverse landscape of social injustice, cultural bias, political correctness (or lack thereof) and sometimes misguided activism in the millennial age. Through an absurdist lens, Dear White People utilizes biting irony, self-deprecation and sometimes brutal honesty to hold up a mirror to the issues plaguing society today, all the while leading with laughter."

Logan Browning plays the role of Samantha White, the main character. (In the 2014 movie, which this series continues, Tessa Thompson played Sam White.) The title of the series is from a radio show run by activist Samantha. Some are defensive about her show and some really get it. Logan is a talented actress with a long list of credits to her name already. She's starred in Hit the Floor, Powers, Brotherly Love, For Better or Worse, Pair of Kings, The Secret Circle, Meet the Browns, Bratz, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, Summerland, and more.
