Stephen Marley will be performing a song with Pitbull at WrestleMania on Sunday. Is Stephen Marley related to Bob Marley, the legendary singer and songwriter?

Yes, Stephen Marley is Bob Marley’s son. Bob Marley had three children with his wife Rita: Cedella, David, and Stephen. Bob Marley also had a number of children with other women, and in total he had 11 kids, plus a few people who claim to be Marley’s children.

Stephen Marley got his career in music started at a young age, performing with his siblings at the age of seven in a band called Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. In 1979, they performed their first song, “Children Playing in the Streets,” which was written by their father Bob Marley.

The band Melody Makers continued on after Bob Marley died in 1981. In the mid to late 1980s, the band became quite popular in its own right, especially with the album Conscious Party.

Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers was active until 2002. After that, Stephen Marley launched his solo career with the album Mind Control in 2007. He followed that up with Revelation Pt. 1 – The Root of Life in 2011 and Revelation Pt. 2 – The Fruit of Life in 2016.

At WrestleMania 33, Stephen Marley will perform the song “Options” with Pitbull.
