Plake's father was a Christian rock band performer, whose band was called Brother Brother and he encouraged his son to sing in church. In fact, prior to being on The Voice, Plake had never sung outside of his church. As for Plake's love life, he and his wife Bethany got married in June 2016, according to Hollywood Life. Plake and his wife were only in their new home for a month when it was destroyed, along with their car, by the Louisiana floods. The couple had to move in with Plake's parents for support.
