Will Kanye West Host ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’?

Could it be?

Kanye West is known for his wild antics and narcissistic behavior– traits that don’t exactly spring to mind when discussing comedienne and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. That being said, Ellen sparked quite the rumor when she announced that she’d like West to take over her long-running show on June 8th.

Why such a specific date? Well, West turns 40 years of age on June 8th, and according to Ellen, she wants her rapper friend to celebrate in style. This all came about during an interview with West’s wife Kim Kardashian on Thursday (April 27), where she confessed she was feeling the pressure of coming up with a worthwhile birthday surprise. “I have no idea,” Kardashian told Ellen, “He does the most amazing, romantic, over-the-top, crazy, wild things that you would never even imagine for me, so the pressure is on.”

“You could have the whole family and him on the show,” Ellen responded, before offering up her entire hour-long show to honor West. “He can play music, he can talk about whatever he wants,” she added, knowing good and well that if given the opportunity, the legendary emcee has plenty to say.

Ellen is no stranger to West’s behavior. In a 2016 interview, the two discussed his infamous Twitter habits, before West got up and began riling up the studio audience, cursing, and comparing himself to Pablo Picasso and Walt Disney (watch the full interview below). One thing’s for sure, if Ellen does make good on her offer, it will be an episode of daytime television to remember…
