Who Won ‘The Voice’ Season 12 Tonight?

Tonight was the season 12 finale of The Voice and one of the four finalists walked away a winner tonight. So, who won? Was it Lauren Duski from Team Blake Shelton, Chris Blue of Alicia Keys’ team, Jesse Larson from Team Adam Levine or Aliyah Moulden, also from Shelton’s team?

And the winner of season 12 is … Chris Blue.

Jesse Larson came in fourth place tonight, followed by third place winner Aliyah Moulden. This meant that the competition was down to Duski and Blue and host Carson Daly said that the voting results between the two performers was the closest the show has ever had.

Kicking off the night was Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, with a performance of their song “Despacito,” and they were joined by Voice cast-off Mark Isaiah. After a short commercial break and some goofy footage from the coaches, Voice cast-off Brennley Brown took the stage to sing with country band Rascal Flatts.

Performances continued throughout the night, with major stars coming aboard to perform with the finalists. The first finalist to perform with a star was Jesse Larson, who took the stage with former Voice judge Cee Lo Green. Lauren Duski later took the stage with country group Little Big Town and performed their song “Better Man” for the viewers.

In preparation of coach Gwen Stefani’s performance of her song “Don’t Speak”, a classic hit from her band No Doubt, a silly video was shown, giving fans an inside look at Stefani’s life “outside The Voice.” Stefani then took the stage to perform with her former team member Hunter Plake. Stefani didn’t have a contestant in the finale.

Zedd and Alessia Cara were the next celebrity performers to take the stage and their performances was on their own. They did not collaborate with any of the contestants or the judges. The duo performed their song “Stay.” Chris Stapleton and Miley Cyrus were also performers, as was season 13 Voice judge Jennifer Hudson.

Music icon Gladys Knight was another big name who took the stage and she was joined by show cast-offs Vanessa Ferguson and TSoul for her set.

In tribute to each of the finalists, video packages of each contestant and their coaches were shown, allowing viewers to get a closer look at Duski, Blue, Larson and Moulden. Chris Blue had the privilege of taking the stage to perform with former Voice judge Usher in a powerful ballad, “Everybody Hurts” by R.E.M. Finalist Aliyah Moulden got to sing with Alessia Cara, who performed a second time to sing a duet of “Scars to Your Beautiful” with Moulden.

Before the results of the finale were revealed, each of the remaining finalists delivered their final words to their coaches.
