Over the years, Drake has proven himself to be quite the romantic. Whether dating famous athletes like Serena Williams or fellow musicians like Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, the Canadian rapper seemingly makes headlines for his personal just as often as he does for his professional achievements. This has especially been the case, recently, as the rapper has been accused of impregnating former pornographic actress Sophie Brussaux.
Brussaux claims that she has text messages that prove the child belongs to him, as well as photographic evidence of the couple meeting up in January. According to TMZ, however, Drake’s people denied these allegations outright. Read more about Brussaux below.
With that being said, is Drizzy currently involved in a relationship? Does he have a girlfriend? The answer, while complicated, appears to be a ”no.” The rapper’s most recent relationship was with actress Jennifer Lopez, and even then, it was something the couple never confirmed to the public. Drake and Lopez reportedly cozied up to one another at the beginning of the year, but due to conflicting schedules, they broke things off shortly before the Grammy Awards. Drake would later address their relationship on the song “Teenage Fever” from his playlist More Life.
Since then, Drake’s romantic entanglements have been difficult to keep track of. In March, he was linked to fashion model Winnie Harlow– which she promptly dismissed. In April, he was paired with singer Jorja Smith, whom he collaborated with on the More Life tracks “Jorja’s Interlude” and “Get It Together”– the latter being especially interesting as it was originally intended to feature Lopez. Hollywood Life reported that Drake “hasn’t been this crazy about anyone since Rihanna,” and that he “thinks Jorja’s the sexiest thing he’s ever laid eyes on, but it’s her talent that really has him sprung.” Once more, nothing materialized.
More recently, Life & Style magazine reports that Drizzy has become smitten with another singer, Paloma Ford. “He’s been sneaking around with Paloma,” says an insider, “Paloma is head over heels for Drake and is taking the relationship seriously.” Though, as history has proven, when it comes to Drake, one can’t take romantic heresy too seriously.
He even admitted as much in March, when he told his concert audience that he “couldn’t even make a relationship last seven weeks.” Watch the video footage below.
