Tonight, actress Marika Dominczyk will be playing Eliza Minnick, marking her ninth episode on the show. Dominczyk is set to guest-star in the next two (and final two) episodes, and given the weight her character has had on the show this season, it's likely she'll be bumped to a series regular for season 14. Dominczyk is originally from Poland, and is married to actor, director, and screenwriter Scott Foley. She got her big break in the 2005 film The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and for one year, she guest-starred on ABC's Brothers & Sisters as Tyler Altamirano. Prior to securing her role on Grey's, Dominczyk booked guest-star spots on House, Rizzoli & Isles, Vegas, Criminal Minds, and The Unit. In a February interview with E!, the actress said, "When I first read the first script, where Minnick comes in and changes pretty much everything, it was a little daunting. I was like, 'Oh my god, I'm walking in here blazing.' She has no subtlety at all. She's just going for it... And I have to say it's been so much fun." She added on that she doesn't see her character as a villain, and believes the audience will eventually be on her side. (ABC)
Tonight, actor Matthew Alan will play the boy’s father on Grey’s Anatomy. Fans of the show may recognize Alan– he’s dating Camilla Luddington (Jo Wilson) in real life. The couple just gave birth to their first child together, Hayden, in April. Luddington announced the news in an Instagram post that read, “I am SO excited to FINALLY share with you all news that I’ve managed to keep secret for what seems like forever now… I am pregnant!!!!!! This girl gets to be a ‘cool mom’ ha!” Recently, Alan appeared in the talked-about Netflix series 13 Reasons Why as Seth, who dates Justin’s mom on the show. Other credits on his resume include Lethal Weapon, Scorpion, Longmire, Major Crimes, NCIS: New Orleans, The Night Shift, The Mentalist, and Murder in the First.
