Who Is Hosting Tonight’s Episode of ‘Saturday Night Live’?

Tonight is a live episode of Saturday Night Live, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson hosting the show. With him, as a musical guest, is Katy Perry, who recently chopped off her hair and bleached her pixie cut. One of the reasons that Johnson is hosting the show, is to beef up attention for his latest flick Baywatch. As for Perry, she has been releasing new music, so this appearance is good publicity for each of the two stars. Lately, The Rock has been in the news for a possible run for office and he appears to have a lot of support from fans. Johnson stated on Good Morning America that:

I don’t know if I would make a good president. I know that I have a certain skill set and I think it’s in that skill set that people see and that people would want me to run. I think that’s reflective of them wanting to see a better leadership happening right now.

Even with the support of fans, however, Johnson said that people shouldn’t get too excited about him possibly running for President.

In recent SNL news, beloved cast member Bobby Moynihan is reported to be leaving the show. According to Deadline, Moynihan is leaving because his CBS sitcom Me, Myself & I, was picked up to series for fall.

Last night, fellow SNL cast member Pete Davidson, who recently made his return to the show from rehab, posted a heartfelt message about Moynihan’s departure via Instagram. Yesterday, Davidson wrote:

Tomorrow is our last show together. It breaks my heart. When I became a cast member you were really there for me and such a pal. I wouldn’t have been able to get through it without you. Over the past few years we’ve become great friends and I’m honored to have met you and have you in my life. You’re one of the funniest people I know and I’ll never forget the time we spent together on floor 17. Well wishes and continued success. I love you.

Last week’s host was Melissa McCarthy and she was inducted into the five-timer’s club by Steve Martin at the end of the show. Tonight is the season finale and Johnson will also be welcomed into the five-timer’s club. Members of this “club” have all hosting the show more than five times.
