Tonight is week 2 of America’s Got Talent season 12, with another round of contestants, hoping to make it through the auditions. Judges Mel B, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell are back and are not shy to hit an “X” button if they feel the act is not up to snuff. For all the details on the acts who have succeeded in making it through the auditions so far, read on below.
Darci Lynne Farmer
This little girl received the Golden Buzzer from judge Mel B, which is a free pass to the live shows, after delivering a singing performance as a ventriloquist.
Jokgu of the Flockstars
Have you ever seen a chicken play the piano? Well, this chicken plays a patriotic tune on the keyboard. Though the chicken had a slow start and the audience began to get impatient, the chicken eventually delivered.
Damien Aditya is an escape artist, who risked his life for his AGT audition, performing something that was relatively new to him. With his worried wife watching from backstage, he was chained into a glass box, with only two minutes to escape. If he did not escape, he would be crushed by sand. Not only did he escape, but he tricked viewers into thinking that he was trapped, only to reveal himself as one of his frantic assistants.
Preacher Larson was a stand-up comedian, who the judges were impressed by, but Simon Cowell wanted to see if he had more jokes to deliver when being spontaneously prompted. Fortunately, Larson didn’t skip a beat and he made it through to the next round. His audition took place on his 26th birthday.
At first, singer Yoli Mayor had a bit of a rough time. She’s young, but Simon Cowell felt her look was just too old and he was quick to interrupt her performance of “I Put a Spell On You.” Host Tyra Banks helped her transform her outfit a bit and Mayor changed her act to a performance of Ed Sheeran’s song “Make It Rain.”
Junior and Emily Alibi
Brother and sister dancing duo Junior and Emily Alibi performed a spicy salsa duo, which was filled with impressive spins. The judges swooned over the amazing performance and they were pushed through to the next round.
Will Tsai is a magician and visualist, who stunned the judges with a brand new trick that he had never performed before on stage. The fact that the trick was developed specifically for his audition impressed the judges right away. But, it was his amazing effects and magic act that truly left viewers stunned.
Singing Donald Trump
A singing Donald Trump impersonator earned himself a pass for his audition on the show. Dressed as Donald Trump, he gave a strange performance of Bruno Mars’ song “Uptown Funk.”
This 12-year-old boy performed a dance that told the story of a broken robot, which ended in the robot’s death. The performance was moving and the judges couldn’t stop gushing over it. Simon Cowell said to Hanna that he would love to put him in a pop video and that his performance was one of the best he’s ever seen on the show.
Puddles Pity Party
When the sad clown Puddles Pity Party came out on stage, he didn’t speak and viewers didn’t know what to expect. Then, all of a sudden, he belted out a rendition of Sia’s song “Chandelier.”
