The weekend ends with another new Lifetime movie about a killer. Girlfriend Killer, not to be confused with Boyfriend Killer, Patient Killer or Assumed Killer, debuts on the main Lifetime channel on Sunday, June 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Read on for a preview of the film.
In Girlfriend Killer, the plot checks off Lifetime’s favorite movie tropes. There’s the woman in danger, played by Barbie Castro, a murder and a stalker. The plot finds a successful business woman who is frequently proposed to by wealthy men. She suddenly becomes the target of a crazy client’s obsession after his girlfriend breaks up with him in public.
The movie was produced by Concord Films LLC, the same Miami-based company behind Boyfriend Killer, Patient Killer, Assumed Killer and Conduit. All of these films have starred Barbie Castro, who was also a producer on them. The film also previously aired on Lifetime Movie Network earlier this month.
When Castro isn’t making movies, she’s also a real estate investor, according to her LinkedIn page. She is also the principal owner of Concord Films LLC, which she established in 2011.
Director Alyn Darnay also directed Boyfriend Killer, Conduit and Immunity.
One of the actors who should be familiar to viewers is Jason Cook, who plays the dangerous client Emerson. That’s because he played Shawn Brady on NBC’s Days of Our Lives and Dr. Matt Hunter on ABC’s General Hospital.
