According to Broadway World, the Tornambe family moved to Minnesota to live with Barnard’s cult, which demanded that all families’ first born children live with him. In 2000, Barnard asked 13-year-old Lindsay Tornambe to live with him and nine other “maidens” at his camp in North Minnesota. The family allowed Lindsay to do so, but little did they know, she was forced to endure ten years of sexual abuse at the hands of the cult leader. In 2016, Barnard was arrested and pled guilty to sexual assault. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
