The best of Broadway stunned on the red carpet at the 2017 Tony Awards.
Hailed as the Super Bowl for theater-goers, this year’s Tonys were hosted by Kevin Spacey and included performances by some of Broadway’s Best, including the cast of “Dear Evan Hansen”, “Hello, Dolly!”, “Miss Saigon”, and more. While most people watch the Tonys for the music, the fashion trends shouldn’t be overlooked. Check out all the best photos from the red carpet arrivals below.
Scarlett Johansson stunned in a white two piece gown. In 2010, the actress took home the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play for her appearance in the revival of Arthur Miller’s “A View From the Bridge.”
Glenn Close stunned in a deep blue, lace gown. This evening, Close presented the award for best actress in a musical prize, for which Ms. LuPone is a contendor.
Olivia Wilde matched the red carpet in a dazzling red plunging dress. Wilde showed up to the event with her husband, Jason Sudeikis, at her side. Wilde is currently starring in a stage adaptation of George Orwell’s ‘1984’, with Tom Sturbridge and Reed Birney.
Tina Fey rocked the carpet in a black and gold feather dress with her husband, Jeff Richmond.
Anna Kendrick looked lovely tonight in a black dress with a white floral pattern. Few are aware that Kendrick is a Broadway veteran, herself. In the ’90s, she made her Broadway debut in the musical High Society.
She’s been a part of many film musicals over the past few years, including Pitch Perfect, Into the Woods, and The Last Five Years.
