Anna Shinoda, the wife of Linkin Park‘s Mike Shinoda, is a published author of a book for teenagers.

Linkin Park tragically lost its frontman, Chester Bennington, to suicide on July 20, and Bennington’s wife, Talinda, and the Shinodas had to endure a vile apparent hack of her Twitter page that referenced Mike Shinoda. Based on their social media pages, Anna Shinoda and Talinda Bennington appear to be friends.

Mike Shinoda posted a brief message about Bennington’s suicide, saying, “Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.”

This all has people wondering more about Shinoda’s family, and his wife, Anna.

1. Anna Is a Published Novelist

Anna Shinoda is a published author. Her first book was called Learning Not to Drown. It’s recommended for those ages 14 and up.

2. Anna Shinoda Was Raised in a Town Without a Stoplight & She Once Worked in Public Relations

Anna Shinoda’s biography on her website says she was raised “in a town so small it lacked a stop light.” There was a silver lining, though: “There was little for Anna Shinoda to do except climb trees, go on hikes and read books,” the bio says.

“Her voracious appetite for reading led to writing, and by the fourth grade, Anna had her first book bound through the Young Authors program. In middle school and high school, she served as editor for her high school paper.”

She continued the craft in college. “Upon graduation, she was awarded scholarships on the merit of her writing and pursued a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies at Long Beach State. Anna worked in music Public Relations for several years after college and eventually discovered a love of writing for young adults,” her website says.
